Classic Theatre presents The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, directed by Allan S. Ross in San Antonio, Texas, now through August 26, 2012.

A farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious characters in order to escape social obligations. The culmination of Oscar Wilde’s artistic career, its high farce and witty dialogue have helped make The Importance of Being Earnest Wilde’s most enduringly popular play.

Cast includes: Rusty Thurman as John Worthing; Sam Mandelbaum as Algernon Montcrieff; Jo Grabow as Lady Bracknell; Christina Casella as Gwendolen Fairfax; Kat Connor as Cecily Cardew; Terri Pena Ross as Miss Prism; John O’Neill as Dr. Chasuble; Steven Bull as Lanel and Mark Hicks as Merriman.

Performances are Friday & Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM- August 16 Performance for Educators begins at 7:00PM. All Performances are at the Sterling Houston Theatre at Jump-Start, 108 Blue Star in the Blue Star Arts Complex, 1400 S. Alamo. The theatre is handicap accessible.
