Memphis in Broadway MEMPHIS
The Majestic Theater
2/19-2/24/2013
TURN UP THAT DIAL... From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, comes a hot new Broadway musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Inspired by actual events, MEMPHIS is about a radio DJ who wants to change the world and a club singer who is ready for her big break. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves -- filled with laughter, soaring emotion and roof-raising rock 'n' roll. Winner of four 2010 Tony Awards® including Best Musical, MEMPHIS played pre-Broadway at the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, and features a Tony®-winning book by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and a Tony®-winning original score with music by Bon Jovi's founding member David Bryan. MEMPHIS is directed by Tony® nominee Christopher Ashley (Xanadu), and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys). Get ready to experience Broadway's most exciting new destination~ what AP calls "The very essence of what a Broadway musical should be."

Painting Churches in Broadway PAINTING CHURCHES
Sterling Houston Theatre (Produced by The Classic Theatre of San Antonio)
2/8-2/24/2013
In this finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Mags Church, a successful artist, returns to her childhood home to help her parents: her flaky, jabbering mother, and her absent-minded father who is tumbling into senility, move to a smaller place. She hopes to finally paint their portrait. She is surprised to learn that her father has declined more than she imagined, while her mother grows increasingly weary of his absentmindedness. How will Mags paint a portrait that portrays her subjects authentically while she deals with the changing dynamics of her relationship with her aging parent's? Full of comedy and poignant moments, this beautifully written play was first produced in New York at the Lamb's Theater in 1976, where it ran for 206 performances. When playwright, Tina Howe, was asked if the play was autobiographical, she responded: "It's all true but none of it happened". The Classic Theatre of San Antonio's production opens on February 7th and stars Allan Ross, Terri Pena Ross, and Christi Eanes. Fanny: "Paint us? What about opening your eyes and seeing us." The Full Monty in Broadway THE FULL MONTY
The Woodlawn Theatre
2/15-3/17/2013
In this Americanized musical stage version adapted from the 1997 British film of the same name, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives' enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendale's. One of them, Jerry, declares that their show will be better the Chippendale's dancers because they'll go "the full monty" - strip all the way down. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.
