ABOUT THE SHOW: On February 3rd, 1959, the man who changed the face of popular music tragically died in a plane crash aged 22. Now, Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story tells the story of the three years in which he became the world's top recording artist with a show that features over 20 of Buddy Holly's greatest hits including "Peggy Sue", "That'll Be The Day", "Oh Boy", "Not Fade Away", "Everyday", "Rave On", "Maybe Baby", "Raining In My Heart", Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba", and the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace". Over 20 million people have come to see Buddy all across the globe where the magical talents of Charles Hardin 'Buddy' Holly have been shared live with many more people than the real Buddy Holly ever had the chance to perform to. The incredible legacy of the young man with glasses, whose musical career spanned an all-too-brief period during the golden days of rock 'n' roll, continues to live on in BUDDY.

In this finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Mags Church, a successful artist, returns to her childhood home to help her parents: her flaky, jabbering mother, and her absent-minded father who is tumbling into senility, move to a smaller place. She hopes to finally paint their portrait. She is surprised to learn that her father has declined more than she imagined, while her mother grows increasingly weary of his absentmindedness. How will Mags paint a portrait that portrays her subjects authentically while she deals with the changing dynamics of her relationship with her aging parent's? Full of comedy and poignant moments, this beautifully written play was first produced in New York at the Lamb's Theater in 1976, where it ran for 206 performances. When playwright, Tina Howe, was asked if the play was autobiographical, she responded: "It's all true but none of it happened". The Classic Theatre of San Antonio's production opens on February 7th and stars Allan Ross, Terri Pena Ross, and Christi Eanes.
